FUNDRAISER FOR BRENT BLICKENSTAFF: Mt. Zion UMC, 603 Main St. (corner of Main St., Church Hill Rd, and Canada Hill Rd.), Myersville, MD, is hosting family friendly movie nights once each month during the winter on Saturday nights at 7:00 pm. All proceeds from these movie nights will be given to the Brent Blickenstaff Fund. These movie nights are free: free movie, free hot dogs, free popcorn, free candy and cookies, free sodas and free coffee. There will also be a free drawing for door prizes. A free will donation will be received each evening for Brent's Fund. As you may know, Brent, a lifelong Myersville resident and coach, was injured in a water accident in Ocean City in September. As a result, he is paralyzed from the neck down. His neck was broken in two places and his spinal cord almost completely severed. He remains in Shock Trauma in Baltimore in ICU on life support for breathing. He is conscious and is communicating with the aid of an eye-directed computer. The Summers Family, which hosts these movie nights, has offered all proceeds from these evenings all winter toward his support. October 26th will be "Healed by Grace;" November 30th will be "The Secrets of Jonathan Speery;" December 7th (following the Myersville Christmas Parade) will be "Christmas Angel;" January 25th will be "Though None Go With Me;" February 22nd will be "Puppy Love;" and March 29th will be "Home Run." Join us for wonderful nights of food, fun and fellowship and help a fellow citizen of Myersville all at the same time. Call 301-293-1401 for further information.
